Lincoln County School District: One Quarter Down, A Season of Growth Ahead!
As we wrap up the first quarter of the school year, it is hard to believe we are already one-fourth of the way through the school year! Today marks the end of the quarter, and report cards will be sent home next Wednesday.
Parents and guardians, this is a great time to check in with your student! Take a few minutes to review their progress, celebrate their successes, and talk about any areas where they may need additional support. If you have concerns about grades, attendance, or academic progress, reach out to your child's teacher or school office. Working together now can make a big difference as we move into the next quarter.
It is important to remember that parents, students, and school employees are all on the same team. We share the same goal: helping every student succeed. When we communicate, work together, and provide the encouragement and guidance our students need, we create a stronger foundation for learning and growth.
Fall Sports Are Heading Into the Postseason!
Our high school fall sports seasons are winding down, and we want to wish our student-athletes and coaches the best of luck as they head into regional playoffs and state competitions! We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and school spirit our teams have demonstrated throughout the season. Good luck to everyone competing in the postseason!
Before we know it, winter sports will be here. With busy schedules, late nights, and early mornings, it is important to remember that our student-athletes are students first and athletes second. Keeping up with schoolwork, getting enough rest, and maintaining good communication with teachers and coaches are all important parts of being successful both in the classroom and in competition.
Celebrating the Arts and School Activities
Fall is also a busy and exciting time for the arts! School plays, theatrical productions, and other arts performances are being planned and scheduled across our schools. These opportunities allow students to explore their creativity, build confidence, work as a team, and share their talents with their school communities. We look forward to seeing our students take the stage and showcase their hard work!
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our elementary students have also been learning important lessons about fire prevention and fire safety. Through visits from local fire departments and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), students have had opportunities to learn about fire safety, prevention, and the important work these community partners do to help protect our families, homes, and natural resources.
We appreciate the time and effort our local fire departments and BLM personnel dedicate to educating our students and helping keep our communities safe. These hands-on learning experiences help bring important lessons to life and remind students that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom.
Looking Ahead
As we begin the second quarter, we encourage families to stay involved, ask questions, celebrate progress, and continue communicating with their child's school. Whether your student is working toward academic goals, competing on the field, preparing for a performance, or learning about safety in the community, every experience is an opportunity to grow.
Thank you to our parents, students, teachers, staff, coaches, and community partners for the part you play in making Lincoln County School District a great place to learn and grow. We are all on the same team, and together, we can make the second quarter a successful one!
